Mechanical design and analysis as applied to electronic packaging, small mechanism design and/or consumer product design. Specifically, the job duties include: Designing and developing molded plastic, sheet metal or cast parts and necessary assemblies; Quantitative analysis including abilities to perform classical hand calculations of stress, strain, deflections and thermal analysis; Product layout and detailed design from concept through production on consumer products and rugged electronic devices for harsh environments and severe weather conditions, using 3D CAE/CAD tools (SolidWorks or Pro-Engineer); Calculations including the application of GD&T and statistical tolerance analysis; Initiating ideas for new products and novel solutions to complex problems; Coordinating and directing projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities, and Consulting or negotiating with clients to prepare project specifications.

Requirements:

Must have Minimum Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with five-year progressive work experience in job offered or equivalent Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required as this position requires contact with our clients on a technical and business level. Experience working with agency standards (such as UL and CSA) and environmental safety requirements (RoHS) is also required. Must be able to travel to attend meetings with clients in various places.
